Microneedling Pen

Advanced microneedling pen treatment designed to stimulate collagen, improve skin texture, and restore a smoother, healthier complexion.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as skin needling or collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment that uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin.

This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response, increasing the production of collagen and elastin.

At The Skin Nurse Clinic, we use microneedling pen, a medical-grade device designed to safely improve skin texture, tone, and overall skin quality.

Microneedling can be used to treat a variety of concerns including acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, and dull or uneven skin.

At The Skin Nurse Clinic, we approach skin treatments from both a medical and aesthetic perspective.

FAQs

Both treatments stimulate collagen production using tiny needles, but they work at different depths and address slightly different skin concerns.

Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process, increasing collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, acne scars, enlarged pores, and early signs of ageing.

RF microneedling, combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. In addition to stimulating collagen, the radiofrequency energy delivers heat into the deeper layers of the skin, helping to tighten the skin and improve skin laxity.

Microneedling can be used to address many common skin concerns, including:

• acne scars
• enlarged pores
• uneven skin texture
• fine lines and wrinkles
• dull or tired-looking skin
• mild skin laxity
• sun-damaged skin

Most patients find microneedling very tolerable. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to minimise discomfort.

During the procedure you may feel a mild vibrating or prickling sensation, but the treatment is generally well tolerated and quick.

The number of microneedling treatments depends on your skin concerns.

Typically, a course of 3 to 4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.

Patients treating acne scars or deeper skin concerns may require additional sessions.

Many patients notice improved skin texture and radiance within a few weeks of their first treatment.

Because microneedling stimulates collagen production, results continue to improve over several months as the skin regenerates.

After microneedling, the skin may appear red and slightly sensitive for 24–48 hours, similar to mild sun exposure.

Most patients return to normal activities the following day. The skin may feel slightly dry or tight as it heals.

The cost of microneedling treatments varies depending on the treatment area and the number of sessions recommended.

At The Skin Nurse Clinic in Dublin, each patient receives a personalised treatment plan following a consultation.
