Glutathione IV Drip
Antioxidant therapy for skin radiance, from the inside
Glutathione is the body’s own master antioxidant a molecule your cells already produce, made from three amino acids, working constantly in the background to defend against oxidative stress and support the way your skin renews itself.
Delivered as an IV infusion, glutathione bypasses digestion entirely and goes straight into the bloodstream, where your body can put it to use immediately. It’s one of the most requested treatments at the clinic, usually by people who already know exactly what they’re asking for.
This is antioxidant support, not a skin-whitening treatment though it’s easy to see why the two get connected. Glutathione does support skin radiance and a brighter, more even-looking complexion, working at a cellular level rather than lightening skin tone. If brightening is your goal, we’ll always start with a conversation: we look at your skin holistically, and glutathione is often one part of a wider plan that might include other treatments alongside it. Your medical practitioner will talk you through what’s realistic and what fits, based on your skin and what you’re actually hoping to see.
Key ingredient: Glutathione. Often paired with: Vitamin C, for a more complete antioxidant effect — see our Vitamin C IV Drip →.
Understanding the Ingredient
Glutathione
Glutathione is present in every cell in the body and plays a central role in neutralising free radicals and supporting the body’s natural detoxification pathways. It’s often described as the body’s “master antioxidant” because it also helps regenerate other antioxidants, including Vitamin C and E, once they’ve been used up.
Glutathione supports:
- Cellular antioxidant defence
- Skin’s natural renewal process
- The body’s own detoxification pathways
- General cellular health and resilience
Glutathione levels in the body can decline with age, stress, poor sleep and environmental exposure, which is part of why interest in glutathione support has grown, particularly among people already investing in skin health.
What to Expect

Frequently asked questions
Is IV drip therapy safe?
Yes, when administered by a registered nurse after a proper medical screening. At The Skin Nurse Clinic, every client completes a pre-screening form before their appointment is confirmed, and a short consultation on the day before anything is mixed. Mild, short-lived effects can include tenderness at the injection site, a cool sensation during the drip, increased urination and temporary tiredness. These usually resolve within 24–48 hours.
What's the difference between an IV drip and oral supplements?
Oral supplements pass through the digestive system, where absorption can drop to 20–50% depending on the nutrient and your gut health. IV delivery bypasses digestion entirely, giving near-100% bioavailability and a much faster effect. It’s not that supplements don’t work, it’s that IV works faster and more completely.
What does a glutathione IV drip do?
It delivers glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant, directly into the bloodstream to support cellular antioxidant defence and skin radiance. It’s administered by a registered nurse after a full medical screening.
Does glutathione lighten or whiten skin?
We don’t offer or claim this. Our glutathione IV therapy is positioned as antioxidant and cellular health support, not a skin-lightening treatment.
How is it different from a Vitamin C IV drip?
They’re closely related and often used together. Vitamin C actually helps regenerate glutathione once it’s been used by the body. Many clients choose to combine both. If you’re deciding between the two, your nurse can advise at consultation.
How often should I get a glutathione IV drip?
This varies by individual and goal. Some clients use it as a standalone occasional treatment; others build it into a regular course.
How much does a glutathione IV drip cost in Dublin?
Single drip €299 – getting a course of 3 or 6 sessions the single drip becomes cheaper at €270 per session.
Are there any side effects?
Most clients feel only a cool sensation during the drip and a sense of hydration after. Mild bruising or light-headedness can occasionally occur. Severe reactions are rare.
Can I exercise after an IV drip?
Resume normal activity as tolerated. If you feel tired or light-headed, hold off on strenuous exercise for a few hours. Keep drinking water through the day and avoid excess caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours.
